Hello NTDOC...
I have a history dating back to DOS days and am very wary about Spaces, Hyphens and extended characters. I see the Double Quotes as a safety thingey.
I'm only slowly weaning myself away from filenames limited to 8 characters AND when I do create a long filename, they NEVER have spaces or extended characters.
FYI, I was using Commodore Pets at the time when the Australian distributor for Microsoft was a lady who operated from her garage at the back of her house!
