Are you tired of the same old boring form, yes you can change the ‘FormBorderStyle’ and things look a little different. I created a new Form Style it is called ‘Astro’, it is a fully functional Form that any one can use.

If you want to modify the default form size modify ‘$Form.ClientSize’.

If you want to add controls to the form add them to the ‘$MainPanel’.

If you want to modify the text displayed on the form modify ‘$Form.Text’.

Enjoy!

Yep. The form is done in .NET.

For now it's running ok. Some small issues but they all seem to be network or user IQ related and not .NET or kix. Yes we have some network issues but one by one they get fixed. The biggest one still is to come and that is going to be a new firewall. The firewall stops me from fixing some network issues so imho we should look for a replacement and trash the current firewall.

One question.
I installed .NET framework 1.1 on these test systems before we started testing. Does the .NET version of KF actually require .NET 1.1 or does it also run on 2 or 3 without installing 1.1? Iirc installing the MSI does not work if .NET 1.1 is not installed but the dll can be registered with regsvr32.

To be honest, I have not tested kf.net on 2 or 3. I haven't even tried installing it - but your right about the regsvr32 thing. Except for dotnet - its called regasm.exe - it is tricky though iirc its not part of the default PATH so you might have to search for it.

Steve Berhns (ASE Editor) told me once he always regasms kf.net ... next time I chat I will ask him for his command line - iirc you need to tailer with some params ...

I use regasm.exe [path to kf.net] /tlb /codebase. This registered it for all users on the system.

Things written for .net 1.1 do not work in 2.0 and 3.0 and things written for 2.0 do not work for 1.1 or 3.0 etc.
All 3 are completely separated. Which is why you can install 3.0 and install 1.1 aferwards. Very nasty if you ask me.
To be a little more elaborate all 3 are 3 different managed environments.
