mobious mobious Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-03-20 Posts: 11	Hi, I began testing vista yesterday, just servers in workgroup mode, and so far the settime function does not work on vista ultimate. I am using the exact script that I use for win2000, and winxp w/o any problems but no good on vistat. I'm going to be testing vista business today but expect to have the same result. Anyone have any ideas?

BTW: This does not relay belong in the Beta forum. Ok Vista is beta but this part of the forum is for kix beta version. Maybe a mod can move it to the general discussions forum? Time sync is the resposibility of a properly configured AD. Mart, The Beta is the right place to post issues regardless of whether KiX is or is not in beta. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more. mobious mobious Fresh Scripter Registered: 2002-03-20 Posts: 11	I did get settime working it was the uac that was blocking it. Once I disabled the uac everything worked. Needless to say this isn't making the test labs happy because they want to use the uac. has anyone got any tips on workarounds for dealing with vista when uac is on?

Lonkero Lonkero KiX Master Guru Registered: 2001-06-05 Posts: 22346 Loc: OK	the problem with settime is that it requires elevated priviledges. normal user can't set the system time. thus, if you have UAC on, you need to run settime with "run as administrator" hmm... can't remember is there or is there not but a tab for always running logonscripts with the elevated privs would be great. _________________________ ! download KiXnet

It was a general statement that it matters not whether KiX is in beta or not. This thread is not about any bug and should be moved but not because there is no beta.
