I am using a kixtart loginscript to map network drives.
This is a sample of my script:

use l: $Server1 + $"sharename"
if Ingroup ("domain admins")
use m: $server1 + $"sharename"
ENDIF

is it possible to give the mapped drives a name
in stead of "sharename" on 'servername'?

Hello and Welcome to the board.

Please look in the UDF Forum for drive mapping UDFs that do that for you.

Have a look at ChangeDriveLabels() - changes the drivelabel in explorer and/or Label() - Read & Write Drive Label
