Is there a theme/skin for UBB threads available?

Was surfin the forum yesterday evening from my mobile phone. It acually went ok compared to other forum software if "full mode", but of course it's far from optimal both regarding screen size, page size, and mobile accessibility.

Usually, PDA/Lo-fi/Mobile versions are built in DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional which is optimized for mobile viewing and the forum is stripped of everything "unnecessary" such as graphics and images (except for smilies some times), leading to dramatically reduced page sizes with just the forums and it's posts.

Comparable features in other forums:
http://forums.invisionpower.com/
http://forums.invisionpower.com/lofiversion/

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/archive/index.php/

we could just migrate to VBulletin or Invisionboard

Heck, I'd even throw up some money for the license...

Sorry but I'm not up for any board change to support PDA surfing.

Whole point is if we move to a modern forum platform, we don't need to code squat and gets loads of useful features, not just PDA compability

Just an idea...

Sorry Masken but I've been on just about every board around and yes some have nicer features but they too have drawbacks.

The only thing we really gain here that I forsee is once again the loss / breaking of thousands of links.
Sorry but I've been through that 3 times now here on Korg and I'm not up for it again.

The board is working just fine (imho).

I feel your pain Masken, I'm soon to get a Cingular 8525 , and while it would be cool to have a mobile site here, I'm still not that interested on coding on it.

I currently have an Axim x51v and have tried the codeing/reading code and it just isn't worth the trouble.

Well if this board supports themes, generating a lo-fi version with XHTML would be a piece of cake. But I don't think it does.

personally, I hate this forum software... or at least it's layout.

I prefer a more modern forum software like vBulletin or even phpBB, but whatever...

cool! I upgraded my Palm m505 to a Tungsten T3 recently and have starting thinking about a phone/pda combined unit. Are there any decent Palm OS phones yet?

Got a Qtek 8310. Small and perfect

@cj, Palm has finally announce Exchange server support (licensed MS Active Sync). Let's hop it won't be as inmature as Ericssons and Nokias "support".
