OK, But tomorrow there is the second week of the Tour de France. That's my match...

Lance Armstrong is retired so it must be a great game without a know winner...

Can anybody please explain to me what the f*** Zidane did? Has he lost his marbles in his last game to exit in such a manner?

As least we lost to the World Champion team, makes third place feel a little bit better

To me, Germany has played a nice tournament with attractive football. It isn't a shame to become 3th. However I understand if you are that close you want to win the tournament especially when it is in your own country.

Some dutch economists analysed the world cup in march. They said that the world economy would benefit the most with an Italian victory... Let's hope they were right ;-)

http://rru.worldbank.org/PapersLinks/Open.aspx?id=7097

Quote:

This report concludes that the world economy will benefit most from an Italian victory at the 2006 World Cup. Although direct economic impact of the World Cup (higher sales in bars and cafes) is marginal, good performances on the pitch can certainly stimulate an economy. In the past, countries winning the World Cup added around 0.7% to their economic growth. For the last three tournaments, the winning country's stock market considerably outperformed the losing finalist's market. On average there was 10% positive effect in the winner's and a 25% negative effect in the loser's. The authors believe that the best final for the global economy would be between Germany and Italy, with Italy lifting the World Cup.

I think something got him realy mad. Still no reason to bang your head against the other guys chest imho.
Shameful way to end his football (yes I know you yanks call is soccer) career. If he just kept his head cool and called the guy an ##shole in French no one would have noticed and the Italian player probably would not have known what Zidane said so he could end his career in a proper way.

The biggest disgrace of the World cup was the fight after Germany send Argentina home. Fighting when the match is done and all the guys are leaving the field to have a shower and stuff WTF were they thinking! One lost and one won. Shit happens, take it like a good sportsman and go home.

The worsest game was in that point of view Netherlands against Portugal with 16 yellow and 4 red cards.

The Italian guy (Materazzi) grabbed Zidane’s shirt, Zidane looked arrogant and with disrespect at Materazzi after that Materazzi called Zidane names and Zidane practiced his head banging skills on the Materazzi's chest.

Zidane also said: "If you want my shirt you can have it when the game is over."

This was just on the news here. Materazzi explained the incident in the Gazzetta dello Sport .

Yeah, Nice Dutch television...

You have something to do to let people watch your channel if you don't have the right to broadcast the World Cup at the same time...

Cheesy imho. The station that broadcasted this used to be a cool sort of rebel TV station but now an other station took over, kept the name but shows a lot more cheesy stuff. I think it's sad if you have to go that way to get any viewers. They even broadcasted during half time so they can get even more viewers.

This TV station originated from Radio Veronica witch was an illegal radio station broadcasting from a boat on the north sea just out of the Dutch waters. Once the boat drifted of during a storm and landed on the beach. A big crowd gathered to watch the “rebels” and the “rebel” boat.

It is just sad, some of the girls are nice but the show itself is crap

LOL well most were very easy hits, but I think the girl about half way through may have hit the guy harder than he expected.
