I’m sure they will have something like it in French but we all know how it goes, in the heat of the moment we can do some really stupid stuff. I know I did in the past and don’t even feel bad about some of them 
Regrets and apologies after the act are ok but will not fix what happened so I’d suggest them both to put it to rest and be done with it. They were both wrong imho so there is no reason to discus who did what and why so they cam put the blame on someone.
