I have been using Kixtart called from a bat file that serves as the logon script for our users for six years. When I orignally instaled the network I found one of those fill in the blanks sites and it emailed me back the logon.bat and the logon.kix,win9x.kix and winNT.kix and win32.kix scripts. Since then I have made a few modifications to those script.

Last week I was trying to make and automated java install from the kix portion of those scripts. I have the java MSI on the netlogon share. I know I should not have netlogon open to everyone on the network, and I intend to make a share that will be able to hold updates, initial installs e.t.c later after I get the script working.

My point is when I was testing the script out on a client I kept getting and no file found error when I used @LDRIVE. I know the files are there. It seems that the kix script does not see or respond to @LDRIVE. Is the something I have to put into you user's profile? I am stumpted I know it use to work.

It would be helpful if you could post the code you use to install Java.
We can only guess where it goes wrong now.

@LDRIVE is populated automatically, there is nothing special you need to do.

Is @LDRIVE available once login has completed? Perhaps you have a timing issue and the drive is not (yet) available? You may need to set the login script to run asynchronously.

We've had odd problems with the netlogon shares not always being available during login since switching from NT to an AD structure, so I tend to use "\\mydomain.com\sysvol\mydomain.com\scripts", which appears to be more reliable.
