I guess the geography issue could be a function of the size of the US. Being such a large country it could be easier to be less informed on the rest of the world. I wonder though if the US press also has something to do with it? I have to say that I find it somewhat amusing that the few times I have watched the "ABC World news", the vast majority of the show was on events that had occured in the US Of course, you get the same proportion of people in each country that are stupid, but it is probably a lot easier for the stupid people in a country the size of the US to be uninformed on the rest of the world.
