also, just because you have an .exe does not mean that you can't push it out through GPO Software Installation if that's what you mean when you say "because it is an .exe file it won't happen from Active Directory." All you have to do is run the install locally while you have a file monitor running (like FileMon) and you can see where the EXE dumps it's contents; the MSI and all accompanying files. Then you can just take those dumped files to created your GPO package...
