I know its unconventional to inform and empower users, but we're just crazy like that around here.

It's like putting nutrition labels on food packages - people like to see it even if they don't really know what it means because the alternative is Big Brother just patting them on the head and saying "Just eat it - it's good for you" Morale and productivity tank, profits go down, turnover is rampant, and all because they didn't get to see a little glimmer of IT humanity in the morning.
