HI There

I have been recommended to use Kixtart to do some of my logon scripts as i have encountered some issues with logons. I have downloaded the files and installed them on my server in the Netlogon folder, well that is the following files, Kix32.exe and Kx36.dll. I am using SBS 2003 and all clients are Windows XP Pro with SP2.

I have put Kix32 in the run command and a black screen displays and disappears.

I have the manual too but doesnt say how to get started.

How do i write my scripts, view sample scripts, wheres my interface, all my current scripts are bat files, these are kix files.

Please what do I do

Any help or advice to get me started would be great appreciated.

Regards

Peter

First, welcome!
Second - the usage of kixtart is simple (and can be done several ways).
In a batchfile, you call your kix-executable and then your file containing the script (kix32.exe kixscript.kix)

Some great examples can be found under the FAQ-section and other things.

Do NOT need the DLLs for XP clients.

do not need the batch files neither.

you create a kixtart script that is actually a text file full of kixtart instructions.
when you feel like ready, just call the script like shown above:
kix32.exe yourscript.file

if you don't like the dos window, wkix32.exe is your choice.
it will show the dos window only if you tell it to.

To get you started please take a look at the FAQ Forum, especially KiXtart Starter's Guide
