Hallo,

I have a cd rom drive(I) and three card reader removable drives (J,K,and L) on my terminal server. Is there anyway i can hide these drives for the users who log on using kixtart logon script. Would be really great if this is possible.

Thanks for reply in anticipation.

Regards
Shaju Devassy

Not sure if you could do it by user or not but I know it can be done in general.

Do a search on Google or on regedit.com and they should be able to show you if it's HKLM or HKCU edit, I just don't remember right off hand.

This is easy to do with GPO.

Do we speak about Windows Terminal Server Sessions or do you have a Metaframe Server on top of it ?

Case A: go with GPOs as Les suggested
Case B: Deal with it using the Metaframe policies

First of all let me thank you all for your replies.

This is a Windows Terminal 2003 server. I have through Gpo my a,b,c and d drives hidden. In gpo i dont find any option to choose the drive which you want to hide for eg:F or so.
It give me only three options hide all drives or abcd or abc.

yap,

these are the defaults, but these policy templates are customizable.
You might even find a ready to use one using google.
