hi there

we have two DC in our AD domain, that process KIX. Since I have had to rebuild one of the DC's KIX scripts are not being processed from it.

Following some instructions from a previous admin, I have ran the kxprc -install and the service is installed and started. If I get users to connect to the \\server\netlogon\kix folder and run the bat file manually all works well. Otherwise the script is not run.

any idea or suggestions would be appreciated

thanks

FJ

first, I am not aware of that you need to install kixtart.
second, how do you call the script for the users? in their profile?

Unless you have some Win 9x running in your AD Domain you won't need the kxrpc Service (which is for Windows 9x only), and I recommend to remove it.

Hmmm ... replication seems to be ok from what you say.
Well, you might want to check with dcdiag to be sure

the script is called from the profile tab of their AD account, it is called from "kix\file.bat"

I know this sounds daft but what am I looking for with DCDIAG?

Hi fastjack and welcome to korg,

this makes me wonder if the users in question have rights to read this dir? If they do what do you mean by 'If I get users to connect'?

somehow I'm guessing you're not supposed to get those errors.

as he's calling the right place in the profile, your guess smells a bit closer to the truth.
