btw, could you try (it seems you have a test machine for this) removing one of the devices manually by deleting the key in regedit?
it could be enough and thus devcon would not be needed.

Did that, same thing, seemingly devcon is not the answer. Yes I will, I'll have a look at the registry.

regedit nor kix won't let me.

After searching all trough yesterday morning,day and night and today morning and day I'm deciding to give up on the fact that one can actually "remove" a specific hardware device from the device manager trough scripting.

I'm continuing in another direction. Because we've already established we can get the info of the devices that are in need of drivers I'm searching for a scripting way of having the hardware wizard search for new drivers in the registry specified path's.

Wel I should rephrase that. I think it's not scriptable without "Sendkeys"
