Hi guys,
I have just joined this forum and I have to say, it looks really good. Loads of good suggestions, scripts and discussions going on. My subject kind of sums up what I am asking and yes, I know this might be a topic that has been covered. My question is about scripts by NTDOC and Radimus. The link below is to a script that they both made with regards to adding to a domain and moving to an OU.
Is anyone using these, or have updated versions? I really like NTDOCs look and feel but am wandering if anyone has updated it to allow the rename of the computer as well.
P.S. I am also fairly new to scripting.

Well don't see the link, but here is the link to my old one.
JoinAD KiXforms script to move computers into Active Directory http://www.kixtart.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB2&Number=75013
I can't speak for Radimus, but no I have not updated mine. I'm sure I'd code it a bit different now days. Probably wouldn't be too hard to update it once you get a little experience with KiXtart.

A quick note to NTDOC and Radimus. I have combined both of scripts and will now be adding them to our images. Really good stuff and they work perfectly. Thank you both for adding posting them on this site.

I was working on a new one a while back.
to detect name collisions, remove old machine acct from domain, to autodectect computer OUs, a few other little details
The previous functions work, but the new ones not so much.... I have more to do on it, and haven't looked at it in months, since I built the last image we deployed

I am working on a few tick box options to run a defrag and chkdsk after image installed. One of our desktop engineers says he always does it after rebuild. I have also got it to add a registry to run a prf file after the user logs on which will create the outlook profile.
Whilst I am here, and I know you guys would know how to do this, I want to add a logo to the bottom right of NTDOCs design. How would I do this? Lets just say that the file is in c:\logo.jpg.

No ScanDisk - that's Windows 9x
Quote:
CHKDSK Checks a disk and displays a status report. CHKDSK [volume[[path]filename]]] [/F] [/V] [/R] [/X] [/C] [/L[:size]] volume Specifies the drive letter (followed by a colon), mount point, or volume name. filename FAT/FAT32 only: Specifies the files to check for fragmentation. /F Fixes errors on the disk. /V On FAT/FAT32: Displays the full path and name of every file on the disk. On NTFS: Displays cleanup messages if any. /R Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information (implies /F). /L:size NTFS only: Changes the log file size to the specified number of kilobytes. If size is not specified, displays current size. /X Forces the volume to dismount first if necessary. All opened handles to the volume would then be invalid (implies /F). /I NTFS only: Performs a less vigorous check of index entries. /C NTFS only: Skips checking of cycles within the folder structure. The /I or /C switch reduces the amount of time required to run Chkdsk by skipping certain checks of the volume.
Then after a CHKDSK I'd run the DEFRAG of the drive as I've seen many times that CHKDSK has found errors during the building process of a system. Depending on how severe the error is Defrag may or may not flag it so I don't recommend simply running DEFRAG without first running CHKDSK
