It is very strange. I even created a test script with four lines, which I will place below this post. It seems to be a timing issue as if I put a sleep 1 statement between where the drive mappings are deleted and where the new mappings are made then it works fine. I'm using the newest released version of kix and clients are an assortment of Win2k and WinXP. Any ideas???

USE M: /D
USE W: /D
USE M: "\\TRCRFS01\DATA"
USE W: "\\TRCRFS01\APPS"

The /D does not exist in Kix. /Delete does exist.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'd tried it both ways and still no luck. Actually as I mentioned before it does work with /D as long as I put a sleep statement in after I delete the drives. Really doesn't make sense to me at all.

A couple of other things that might help.
  • Check the state of @ERROR after the delete. If there is a reason why the drive cannot be deleted @ERROR may help identify what it is.
  • If the drive has a persistent mapping then it will not be deleted *unless* you include the /persistent flag - check the manual for details.

Well, I didn't realize that you could or should use the /persistent flag when deleting a connection as well. There are still some timing issues b/c Explorer doesn't seem to refresh the drive mapping list in time, but when run synronously i think it is working now. Thanks!

No problem.

There are some problems when deleting drive mappings that I believe have not been resolved - do a search of the forums to pick up the latest news.

If you still have difficulties then add some debugging code after each of the deletes to display the values of @ERROR and @SERROR.
