oneill oneill Fresh Scripter Registered: 2005-03-24 Posts: 27 Loc: Australia	Hi All, I am trying to use the DelPrinterConnection to delete all existing printers by using the following code. $ = DelPrinterConnection ("") This is the error code that I get when I use the @Error and @Serror macros. 1801, The printer name is invalid Someone in the Adminscripteditor forum suggested that it was a bug with kix and windows XP. This seems to work when I test on my workstation, I am running Server 2003, but I have never been able to get it work on XP. I have tried this on serveral different networks, but same result. I have tried with all version 4 versions of KIX. any ideas? oneill3

DelPrinterConnection("") is simply broken on XP/W2K3 and nobody but Ruud can fix it. There is no point in going on about it. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more. The manual does not purport that the "" parm works on any OS or inversely that it does NOT work on any specific version. I don't remember whether the "" parm was an undocumented unsupported feature but since it worked at one time and since it is fairly common knowledge that it worked, it should be mentioned in the manual. If Ruud decides that it is not by design and does not want to fix it, it is his prerrogative. _________________________ Give a man a fish and he will be back for more. It is the fact that using a zero length string deletes all printers that is common knowledge.
