Hello,

I need to get a synonym for a IP-Adress.. (like %clientname%).
Does that exist for IP-Adresses??

I have to connect my Domain to a remote-workgroup,...so I have no DNS on the other (remote) side to use f.e. %clientname%...
Pls help me!

Regards,
Florian

Welcom to the board.
Kix has a macro for the ip address.
Look in the manual for @IPADDRESS and you find more info on how to use it.

For example:
Code:

$ip = InStr(@IPADDRESS0, "192.168. 1")

If $ip = "1"
?"IP is in range: 192.168. 1.x"
Else
?"IP is not in range: 192.168. 1.x"
EndIf

Thank you for your answer!!

If I use @IPADRESS to get the ip-adress, I only receive the IP-Adress of my Terminalserver (localhost). But I need the Ip-Adress of that client, that is connected to the Terminalserver...

(sorry for my bad english, I'm from germany - I'll try to give my best!!)

Have a look at the ClientInfo Terminal server info tool in the download section at http://www.kixhelp.com/downloads.htm

As for language issues... Post as you can in English, as most of us are English only speakers, but we do have a large international community, so if you are concerned that you aren't getting the concept across in English, include in your post the question in your preferred language... There is a good contingent of German speakers here, and French, and a few dialects of Spanish, and whatever it is that our northern barbarian vikings speak :-)

I even recall that we have some middle eastern users... UAE and Israel, I think

heh, I was watching the KiXgolf: Fragmentation event - some impressive coding in there. Interesting to note that the EndIf's could be left out... And is it so that you don't need to put $$ in a string to get $ now?

cj

p.s. and I am close to 1k posts

Fixes/enhancements in 4.10:
- Variable with zero-length name ('$') is no longer resolved when used inside strings.

The "wf" in the name "wfapi" is probably referring to WinFrame, which is the original name for multi-user windows developed by Citrix.

If you do not have the Citrix MetaFrame add-on installed on the terminal servers you cannot run a program that uses the MetaFrame DLLs.

You need to use a program which is written for vanilla terminal server.

There are several tools listed in the FAQ, at least one of which works without Citrix.
