What information you looking for. I've played with it a little, but then found that for my needs the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows was more what I was looking for and quit further work on the Microsoft WinPE.

I use it for re-imaging a system all the time. A manual Ghosting process but you can map to any server on your network and re-Ghost a system quite easily.
Have not attempted any RIS stuff with it though as rarely do you have the opportunity to remotely re-image without first storing the current data from a system.
Altiris (imho) is the most advanced vendor out there anywhere to handle all types of imaging and automation of a network of systems.

With regard to RIS, you can place an image of PE on the RIS server, boot PXE to RIS, choose PE, boot PE, then via script map network shares, copy NTFS data up (USMT? not likely), reimage from RIS, Ghost, etc. and then restore data. Possible, yes, feasilbe, TBD.
RIS in this case simply replaces the CD component of booting. I'm unclear on how RIS allows you to boot PE from an image and weather you can boot from any image or if this is PE proprietary. Uncharted territory for me; just going off of the PE documentation thus far.

I have 2 PE CDs
1 is a minimal CD with net drivers, that I use for ghosting (on a mini CD)
2 is a full UBCD4Win that I use for mainenance and recovery

I actually managed to kill our company NT4 print server (with 90 printers on it) this afternoon my installing a piece of crappy software on it that caused some dll hell causing endless DrWatsons on Explore.exe. Using Backup Exec to restore the system I managed to make the system non-bootable, interestingly when things start to go wrong they really do go wrong. But.. I was imaginative... restored the Full and Differential backups of the print server to a directory on the network, booted from PE2005, did a quick prayer and used robocopy /mir. And damn, it was the quickest disaster recovery I've ever done
