It should do exactly as it says. Halt everything until the logonscript is done and then continue load the desktop and stuff.

If you just create a new test GPO with just the sync setting in it and apply it the proper group dies it get published to your system?

GPUPDATE /FORCE and GPRESULT helps in determining if it does.

The sync option has worked great for me in all sorts of combinations of NT4 server and workstation, Win2K server and pro, Win2K3 and XP boxes and servers.

gpupdate is only fore XP. 2K has secupdate or something. Gpresult goes on both.
