Are you trying to script the regsvr32 ? If so, lets see your syntax.

Where did you even get kixgui.dll

That has to be ancient by now. Why you use/need it? KiXforms has a newer kixforms.dll which has lot more functionality to it.

No, it's just that KiXforms is that good!

not really.
to be honest, the good bad difference is not that big.

anyways, this registering error sounds little odd...
but I have faint memory that it has happened before too.

...and the new one, it's great that is kixforms, it worked, just now. i've also noticed the file size, 6 times bigger than my old kixgui.dll....size matters !!

romulus, ja it's bigger.
but the load of functions has grown from those times a lot.
what was it... something like 2001 when last kixGUI update came out...

still, it had a catchier name

KixGUI has a dependency on the VB runtimes, imagine they would have to be there for the registering stuff to work.

BTW, KiXGUI is just there to make the logon script pretty, it is not necessary if you just map some drives/printers. The same applies to KiXforms, it's there to pimp your login script.

I like that, "pimp your script."

There are some more differences with KiXGUI.dll. It is no longer updated, displays a little funky on high color, has (as mentioned) a dependency on VB runtimes, and has a couple of minor bugs.
