Adam_Witwicki Adam_Witwicki Fresh Scripter Registered: 2005-04-25 Posts: 8	Hi, i have 90+ laptops where the users do not have admin rights and are not going to get them, does anyone know how to add a local printer with out admin rights?? Thanks Ada,

If the drivers are not there, then you will need to build an Admin script. Just install your driver on a server and then connnect to the printer via scripting as usual. masken masken MM club member Registered: 2000-11-27 Posts: 1222 Loc: Gothenburg, Sweden	With the link I posted in mind; either set the registry permissions for the OEM PnP path via GPO and put the drivers on a share, or set the NTFS permissions via GPO for the default drivers path, then copy the drivers to your clients via script. If it's a proper WDM PnP driver, I think Win will install without having to give the clients permissions automagically. masken masken MM club member Registered: 2000-11-27 Posts: 1222 Loc: Gothenburg, Sweden	If a driver for the printer is found under the default drivers path (where Win automatically looks when it detects new hardware), and is a WDM (Windows Drivers Model) driver, it is detected and installed automatically under WinXP, and requires no user input/privilegues. What you need is the Driver Install Frameworks Tools, which lets you make administrator-authorized driver packages for non-administrators _________________________ The tart is out there
