There is something called KixCrypt going round on this board and there are make exe options in some editors like ASE http://www.kixscripts.com/editor/features.asp.
This will make it at least not as readable to users as just plain text.
To be honest I used a logon and pass is a script once or twice 
(just called a flame party on myself 
), just needed a quick and dirty solution for one time use.
