Well think the hot Christmas weather has now been replaced by rainy weather (maybe those Canadian boys sent it our way).

(only heard on local news, not verified data)
According to local news we have received almost 5 inches of rain in one day which is a record level. Previous to today we have only gotten about 2 inches of rain in a single day.

The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WARNING! for So. California. I've not researched the facts, but this is the first warning I've heard of around here in my 40+ years of living here.

Thunder and Lightning right now which we get very little of as well.

The LA River was near to the top level and in the San Fernando Valley there was actual flooding in many areas.

wow.
that's like 127mm!
even 30mm (around 1.2 inches) is considered heavy rain in here.

also, how does raining fit to california's profile?

btw, that river water level...
can't it be explained by the wild east tsunami?

know that it has reached at least far as kenya with some serious impact.

Nope, nothing to do with the tsunami. Just heavy storm rain that runs down all the hills and valleys and ends up in the river.

Plenty of other places around the World with much more rain and poor weather, just a bit odd for us Californians. We're used to very little rain and a lot of sunshine.

We got the snow. It was a record snowfall for a 24 hour period for our area. I think my town ended up with around 22 inches (55.88 cm) of snow.

Here are some pictures from Dayton (where I work). They didn't get as much snow as we did here.

Damn global warming!!!!!!!

If it's 5 degress above normal in like March all the news talking puppet heads start preaching about how we are killing the planet and global warming is upon us and the planet is going to burst into flames if we don't all trade in our SUV's for some hybird car that looks like crap and runs on cow farts.

How come no one starts screaming about global cooling when it's like 40 damn degrees below normal with a -35 degree wind chill? Damn the cow farts!!!! Drive 3 Hummers at the same time. There are a lot of cold people out there. Of course I wouldn't know cause its like in the 60's here and I'm wearing a tshirt and shorts...

well, kinda cold here and I still don't get that hummer stuff.
if me was to buy a hummer, I would most likely replace the engine with some VW V10 super light rolling TDI

DOC,
Are you superstitious? As you know from every american weather report, cold and snow always comes down from Canada. I would think twice about disparaging the Canuck Weather Gods.

Looks like that stuff just keeps on coming.

PFFTTT!
I seem to recall the TO mayor calling in the army not that long ago. Are you being facetious there, Shawn?

Yeah, I think the National Guard helped remove some of the snow. You have to realize that Dayton only gets about 27 inches of snow annually, so to get about 24 inches in a 24 hour period calls for a little help.
