Hello all, I am new to kix and really like what I have read about it. I usually do most login stuff with batch files, but I have a tricky situation.

I need to map some network drives and pass the username password while doing the mapping. Basically I have a user that is working on a short term project, during the project her computer account was removed from our domain and added to a remote domain (AD).
She is now logging into her system via VPN to the remote domain, but we still want her to have her mapped drives and printers that are local.
So I need to map several drives and one printer using her other credentials.
Any help would be great
Thanks

eh...
lets clarify...
1) she is at A and she VPN's to B.
2) she is logged on to windows by credentials of A.
3) and her VPN connection will use the credentials for B.
4) she needs to have access to B (via the VPN) but also drives mapped from A

is this right?

One more comment, I don't need this to happen during a login. It can run in the startup folder or even can be something she clicks on. I'm trying to make it so she doesnt have to enter her credentials at each network mapping.
Thanks

now, if my lines above were correct, she will not need to enter credentials for anything.

Sorry I just read this thread again and realized I didn't read your first post all the way.

The answer should have been no. She is not logged on to windows with credentials A. She logs into Domain B by choosing to use dial up as the method of logon, she then enters the VPN info and is logged into domain B with Domain B credentials.
I want her to then click on a script that will map drives that are located on Domain A servers, using her Domain A credentials. Is that clear?
There are no issues with resolving the local servers because I have added a custom routing table to her system.
I have a basic kix login script that I can use, the part that I don't know how to do is use her domain A credentials in the script during the drive mapping.

Have looked in the manual for the syntax for USE?

Quote:

On Windows NT-family systems, you can use the /USER and /PASSWORD parameters, which allows you to override the security context of the current user.

Yes I actually have tried that. The problem with that is that AD wants the username in the following format domain\user
Is there anyway to pass that as the username???
Thanks for your feedback
