Has anyone noticed this problem: If I am running the Google toolbar in IE6 and click on a link to an updated post like Re: FOXIT PDF Viewer, when the page comes up, the browser has scrolled past the post by a few lines, and I have to scroll back up to read it. If I disable the Google Toolbar and click the link, it opens and anchors properly. I've noticed this at other sites, but more at the korg than anywhere else. Google doesn't seem to have any faq/kb docs addressing it.

Anyone else? Any ideas?

could be ie thing too?
like, take out the google bar and add some extra bar to IE.
or add googlebar to end of some other bar (can't remember is that doable)...

Moving the bar to the end of another bar didn't help. I'll see about installing another toolbar, but I'm weary because some are a real pain in A$$ to get rid of. Thanks for the ideas though.

Our dial-up software installed a tool bar in IE and it causes similar problem as you are describing. So I dont think its a problem with google in particular, but more like a problem with IE when it has an extra toolbar.

Well, it appears it is something with IE, and not a toolbar. Maybe I've gotten it mixed up with Fixfox when it worked properly. When I removed the toolbar, it still scrolls past the post. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

think IE counts the window size (well, it does) and by that determines how much it should scroll.
now, somehow some bars don't get properly "registered", thus IE does not count it but scrolls wrong.

I noticed the scrolling behavior too, but didn't pay close enough attention to when it started, though I know it was recent. Don't use any toolbars here, don't like'em. My impression was perhaps MSIE was scrolling to the last place I had previously viewed in a particular thread. Whenever and where ever this behavior comes from it is annoying. I'll scroll for my self.

Is it a board setting or recent MS update?

Yep, got XP-sp2 here at work and W2K-SP4 server w/ MSIE6-SP1 at home. Same behavior on both.

Maybe its my glasses or not getting enough sunlight. I live in the ground.

I've got no tool bars... google or the like, even backed off the native ones like address, links, standard... only the "file", "edit", "view", "favs", "tools", "help" and it still does it.

Strange.

Google is getting a bad rap. My IE was doing it long before I installed google.

I'm not questioning Google anymore, it's almost definately IE. I am using one of my older pcs right now, with XPSP2 but missing some of the lastest patches, and it is scrolling properly (also with Google toolbar). So maybe a can figure out if its one of the hotfixes.

Good Grief... who knows? I now have two machines with XPSP2, all patches... one scrolls right, the other doesn't. I'll just hope someones stumbles across a fix, as I've wasted too much time on this already.
