Here is the following snippet of code that is not being evaluated correctly:
Code:

IF INGROUP("Engr","Truss","Receptionist")
$RETURNVALUE = EXISTKEY("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\,,corpsrv,engr_hp1300")
IF NOT $RETURNVALUE = 0
ADDPRINTERCONNECTION("\\corpsrv\engr_hp1300")
USE LPT3: "\\corpsrv\engr_hp1300"
ENDIF
; Make sure the user can run MATLIST -- they need a .get file and it gets
; created automatically if they don't have one (copied from one that works)
IF NOT EXIST("\\corpsrv\data\batch\paths\@USERID.get")
copy \\corpsrv\data\batch\paths\jenny.get \\corpsrv\data\batch\paths\@USERID.get
ENDIF

; The program was written to use a variable that exists in Novell but not NT, so we set it here
SETM "LINAME=@USERID"
? "LINAME set to @USERID" ; for MATLIST program -- look in %L\DATA\BATCH\PATHS\username.get

; Set up drive mappings here (X will go away eventually)
USE L: \\corpsrv\engr
USE G: \\corpsrv\apps
USE Q: \\corpsrv\data
USE U: \\corpsrv\utils
use X: \\corpsrv\X
ENDIF

This is when executing the script with /f that it doesn't detect that the user is in both the Truss and Engr groups. Here is the output of "ifmember.exe" when logged in as the user:
Quote:

H:\>\\corpsrv\netlogon\IFMEMBER.EXE /list
User is a member of group CORPSRV\Domain Users.
User is a member of group \Everyone.
User is a member of group BUILTIN\Users.
User is a member of group NT AUTHORITY\INTERACTIVE.
User is a member of group NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users.
User is a member of group \LOCAL.
User is a member of group CORPSRV\truss.
User is a member of group CORPSRV\engr.

As far as I know this used to always work. It is happening to two of my users who are in this group, one on XP and one on W2K. I have run the script in debug mode of course and no error, it just returns with 0 and skips the section.

Thanks for any help!

Misty

Sorry, I'm the one who wrote the post above -- I had forgotten to log in first. I have some more info. From scrolling through search results about ifmember, I found someone with a similar problem but only one one W2K system. It was suggested for them to try running the following code for testing:

Quote:

$Index = 0

DO

$Group = ENUMGROUP($Index)

$Index=$Index+1

$group ?
UNTIL Len($Group) = 0

? "listed."

get $

My results follow:

Quote:

H:\>\\corpsrv\netlogon\KIX32.EXE \\corpsrv\netlogon\test.kix
CORPSRV\Domain Users
Everyone
W2KENGRSPARE\Users
INTERACTIVE
Authenticated Users
LOCAL
CORPSRV\truss
CORPSRV\engr

The token cache says the same thing. I've also tried removing the token cache and logging out and back in. Same results.

try simply changing:
IF INGROUP("Engr","Truss","Receptionist")

to:
IF INGROUP("CORPSRV\Engr","CORPSRV\Truss","CORPSRV\Receptionist")

That seems to have worked. I have no idea why. The docs did not seem to state that it was needed. Can you elicidate it at all for me?

Do you, perhaps, have multiple domains? By specifying the domain you are being more explicit.

I do have two domains but they are on separate subnets that do not broadcast to each other. Also the two domains have been in place longer than the login script has.

if these two computers have been setup with the another domain as their default domain, they might have some trouble after move to the current one. no?
