I'm trying to connect to an Access-database with the help of DBCommand() This line works: Code: $dbconn = 'DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)}; UID=; PWD=; DBQ=c:\database.mdb' But this don't: Code: $dbconn = 'DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)}; UID=; PWD=; DBQ=http://www.someadress.com/database.mdb' If I don't use http:// I get "can't connect to (unknown)", and if I use it I get "File unknown". If I write the adress in IE I get a save-prompt, so the file exists. I'm guessing it's the formating of the adress, but I can't figure it out.

Personally I'd like to use mySQL, but "Da Man" were I work thought that since we have an access-database that's accessible from the "outside" it should be possible to read some values from it. Now I have to convince him that my way is the right way Thanks again

Administrator Registered: 2000-01-24 Posts: 4946 Loc: Leatherhead, Surrey, UK	Move the database to mySQL and add ODBC connections in Access for those people who need it - you get a robust back-end server and a familiar management interface / application development tool. I don't know how good Access databases are now, but we used to have horrendous problems with more than a couple of concurrent users, especially over WAN connections.
