[censored], I think you've got your math wrong :-)
6 Gbit per second is less than 600 MByte per second due to protocol overhead. A rule of thumb is that to transmit 8 raw bits the equivalent of 10 transmission bits are needed.
Thus, assuming 4GByte per DVD movie, you'd have 6-7 seconds for the transmittal.
