Getting the hang of it

My main issue is that a particular group, Executive Management, is not being detected by KiX.
Below is a little piece of code I was using to see if KiX was seeing all the groups a user was a member of.
Code:

$Index = 0

Do
$Group = EnumGroup( $Index )
If Len( $Group ) > 0
MessageBox ($Group, "Group")
EndIf
$Index = $index + 1
Until Len( $Group ) = 0

It goes through every group, local & domain, except the Executive Management group. I've gone so far as to delete the group and recreate it to no avail.
I use the following piece to map the drives based on this group. The code doesn't differ from any of the other InGroup statements aside from the group name.
Code:

If InGroup("Executive Management")
Use K: "\\Server\Human Resources"
Use M: "\\Server\Accounting"
Use O: "\\Server\peachtree"
Use Q: "\\Server\Estimating"
? "•••Executive Management drives mapped"
EndIf

Any thoughts? This is KiX v4.22.

Have you tried either of the following?

Run KiX with the /f switch to flush to the token cache?

Precede Executive Management with a domain name - "YOURDOMAIN\Executive Management"?

HTH,

Kent

I haven't tried the /f switch, but I have deleted the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KiXtart\TokenCache key. KiX just enters the same groups (minus the one I need). Would it be that I need to reboot after deleting that key? I'm hoping that's not the case so I can script the removal of that key.

I'll try it with the domain added onto it. Its just odd that the other groups map fine.

Thanks.

Adding the domain name doesn't seem to help.

Is "Executive Management" a security group?

I should mention that the workstations that its not working on are WinXP Pro. This a Win2k AD Domain (in mixed mode; I have a couple NT4 boxes).

You don't need mixed mode unless those NT4 boxes are BDCs. I never played with mixed mode before... what if you shortened the group name?

Was the group re-named by any chance? Ive had problems with groups getting recognized after they were renamed.

And also, there is no need to script the deletion of the group cache from the registry. Running the script with the /f option does the same thing.

Citrix not an issue, he said he has deleted and recreated the group to no avail.

Addict, You say that Windows XP systems don't see the group. Do NT 4 Server/Workstation or Windows 2000 systems see this group?

How large of a Network are we talking here? 2 DC 50 DC how many sites? How many Domains? Global Catalogs?

Bandwidth or Replication issues? Rights issues? Who has rights to see/edit/modify this group? Wrong ACL?
