I have a kixtart script that runs at login and swaps out printer mappings. The problem is it takes a very long time for the script to run and since it runs at login the login appears to hang wile kix32 runs. It seems to interupt and take priority of explorer.exe and the screen remains blank until after it completes.

Is it possible to have the script run silently, in the background, at a lower priority...etc so that it still runs yet also allows login to proceed? I can't seem to find a switch or anything....

Yes, there is a GPO called RunLogonScriptSync that controls whether the script runs sync or async.

Look also at running WKiX32.exe taking care not to send any output that would generate a console or run it with the /i switch.
