Hey gang,

trying to get a program called BGinfo.exe - with arguments - to run with kix logon script. No errors using the /debug option. Debugged it to the point where it even hangs in a local client command prompt .bat file. Yet I can at a command prompt get the command with arguments to finish as intended. i.e. bginfo.exe /timer:00 /taskbar. How have others solved programs that exhibit the same symptoms like these? Also - forgive me - please direct me to other forums / technical sites that I could browse / inquire a solution for the above problem. Am willing to learn w/cscript etc if advice so believes that these will solve the "cmd.exe /command.exe" issue. Thank you for your time and support.

This is exactly what I have tried . . . this does not work. Thus the initial post. Have tried variations as well using the shell "cmd.exe \\server\. . . ." Still same results - script will not continue and hangs. That is why I went into detail about it hanging a local client bginfo.bat batch file with the exact syntax you suggest.

hmm...
to state it clear, your "i've even tried shell" comments makes me wanna say:
shell is intended for stopping the execution of script until the shelled proggy ends.

whoa - hold on there . . . (very sheepishly) and very sincerly my apologies Lonkero!!! I did have call had also tried "run" but the number and ORDER of the cmd line args - of which I had additional ones and in different order seem to be the real problem. Just tried with the exact args and the "run" command and it works as I respectfully admit - you probably knew all along - it would. CASE CLOSED - Thank You, Kirk
