Hi, I did a search on autolock and locking computer and found nothing. I bought a few copies of genie backup, it works great except the computer has to be logon. Sometime users reboot their computer so backup doesn't run. I'm looking for some way to automate the logon process after reboot and autolock the computer so others can't access the machine. Please help...Thx

give the account a logon script that sets the screensaver policy to like 1 minute.

or use autoit to lock out the kbd and mouse

You might try:

Code:

run 'RUNDLL32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation'

If this is an NT,2K,XP box, This will lock the desktop as soon as it is executed. The problem with this is, how do you decide when to run it, as you obviosly can't just run it everytime someone logs in, or they would have to immediately re-enter their password.

Why does the backup program require a user to be logged into the computer to run? Sounds like a design flaw to me. You'd also most likely run into backup/restore problems unless the user is local admin or has the appropriate backup/restore rights.
