Quotes is probably the best way.. However, another way to do this is to use the /x switch for DOS Dir. This will give you the short version.

/X This displays the short names generated for non-8dot3 file
names. The format is that of /N with the short name inserted
before the long name. If no short name is present, blanks are
displayed in its place.




Oh.. And by the way, we just removed removed Roaming Profiles. It sure has eliminated a ton of headaches.
