I will try to take a stab at this.

Execution of scripts can take place one of the following ways (I am sure that I am missing some) -
(1) At login - Using a BAT file and it starts KIX32/WKIX32 through NETLOGON sharepoint.
(2) At login - Using a GPO
(3) At login - Direct call from Active Directory (or User Manager) to start KIX32/WKIX32 and then the script.
(4) A Batch file - you double-click the batch file to start KIX32/WKIX32.
(5) A Shortcut - you double-click a LNK file to start KIX32/WKIX32.
(6) A Scheduled Task - Using Task Scheduler to start KIX32/WKIX32 and a script.
(7) AT/WINAT - Same thing as Scheduled Task.

Kent
