I am wanting to create a batch file to execute from a kix script.
The batch file will search for a file and then based on the results of the search will attempt to update the users settings.

Can you, for all users, call a batch file using kix?

I do it in a Netware environment at the moment?

well, do you do it or not?

sure you can do.
I just must wonder, why you must criple the logonscript execution by using a batch-file.
and, batch files and *exe's have basically nothing in common.

I use the batch file to call an *.exe sdat(number).exe a McCafee update of the client machines.

How else could I do this aside from a login script / batch file?

Yes.

I use a batch file (based on groups) in the Novell Environment.

If member of (Anti)
@z:\public\antivirus\anitv.bat
endif

you asked how else you would do it.
I said, from the script.

skip the batch file, you will never ever need it.

Why would you need a batch file if there's RUN and SHELL? And search the Scripts and UDF Forums for McAffee-related UDFs.

You can use the following - The McAfee Install and Update Script

We have used it in the past, and it uses "old" scripting technology. Today, we use ePO.
