In my clients of four hundred machines under AD domain they are using right now a format date of mm/dd/yyyy.
My company wants to change the date using this format
dd/mm/yyyy/. I'm using a kixstart right now to map shares and quite new to this scripting tech.
Is there any built available code I can borrow.
Please advise

if you mean you want date string in specific format instead of current, try this:

$currentdate="mm/dd/yyyy"
$currentdate=split($currentdate,"/")
$wantedDate=$currentdate[1]+"/"+$currentdate[0]+"7"+$currentdate[2]
"wanted date format: " $wantedDate
get $waiter
exit 0

Have a look in the registry at key:
Quote:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International

Most of the internationalisation data is stored there.

Search the board for ways of updating it.

sLongDate = dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy

Hello Orven,

I'm guessing that what the others are eluding to is that you should review the KiXtart manual and perhaps some of the FAQs on the board as it will help you to easily learn to do this type of code changes yourself.
KiXtart is a very easy scripting language to learn. Try writing some simple scripts and reviewing some of the simple scripts that come with the program and in a very short time you'll see that you can start writing scripts to easily perform just about any task you want.

Here is an example of one way of doing this in KiXtart.

Break On
Dim $SO
$SO=SetOption('Explicit','On')
$SO=SetOption('NoVarsInStrings','On')

Dim $sLongDate,$sShortDate
$sLongDate=WriteValue('HKCU\Control Panel\International','sLongDate','dddd, dd MMMM, yyyy','REG_SZ')
$sShortDate=WriteValue('HKCU\Control Panel\International','sShortDate','d/M/yyyy','REG_SZ')

Have you tried doing something like this in your login script?

Code:
$null = WriteValue("HKCU\Control Panel\International","sShortDate","dd/MM/yyyy",REG_SZ)

too slow again...
