In a W2K environment, I can't get the INGROUP command. Here is my code..

if ingroup ("Work_Flow")
? 'in workflow'
else
? 'not in wf'
endif

I know my userid is in the group because the following code will display all the groups I'm in...

$user = getobject("WinNT://@domain/@userid")

for each $group in $user.groups
? $group.name
next

I've use the /F switch, but nothing. Any ideas?

Thanks

Jim

Maybe it's the way your AD is setup with permissions or FSMO roles.

Jim,

You can also try the ENUMGROUP Method as is described in the documentation.. This would help show you what comes/doesn't come through using KiXtart.

Still have ingroup problems. When I run the following, the group is displayed.
$user = getobject("WinNT://@domain/@userid")

for each $group in $user.groups
? $group.name
next

One thing I didn't realize, I'm in mixed mode. Does this make a difference. INGROUP does work in mixed mode or pre-windoww 2000 mode?

Thanks

could you try simply:

ingroup ("Work_Flow") ?
@error " " @serror ?
ingroup (@domain+"\Work_Flow") ?
@error " " @serror ?
ingroup ("Domain Users") ?
@error " " @serror ?

and tell what it prints.

Ok, I put in the code you provided and it returned 3 zeros.

That cannot be. You'd also see the error codes and error descriptions being returned. If the INGROUP itself returns a 0 then the user is not part of the group(s) specified in the IUNGROUP() function

I have the same issue...

Here is what I get with your code.

0

Thoughts?

This sounds like the same problem I had some months ago. It was not returning an error, yet it would not see all the groups the person was a member of. For me it seemed to go away after a while, which indicates a network problem in our environment. Either that or I have had no complaints.
