Can i set up a script that maps certain printers to certain OU's. I am in a school and want to map a user to the printer in the classroom that the user logs onto, I also want the printer removing from the users printer list as he logs off (or on) so the user does not carry extra printers (student with more than 1 printer = 100 copies for a laugh) I have classroom ou's set up with the pc's in the relevant ou, ie: maths OU has maths1, maths2 and so on, if not is there any other way to do this,
very gratefull
Andy

simplest method is groups... AD lets you put computers in groups and there is a ComputerIngroup() function in the UDF forum

If the user has roaming profiles, then you set them a logoff script to delete all network printers

Mapping based on OU would be easy as long as you have no legacy clients. Just assign a GPO logon script to the OU. This is covered in AD101.
