Many of our users connenct to our network/domain solely by logging into Citrix servers. What do I need to do to have the script recognize the machine logging into the server, and not the Citrix server itself? Specifically, I'm looking to determine the OS of the client machine, so that I can push out the appropriate files (Windows Updates).

Before anyone comes back with the "Look at the FAQs" reply, let me save you the typing. I've done a search of all archives for "Citrix". Some sounded good, until I opened them and found them irrelevent, greek to me, or the page couldn't be displayed.

I'm doing fairly well at using scripts to run on machines that log directly into my domain, but the Citrix MetaFrames (XPe FR1) are causing me grief.

Thanks for any assistance.

Jer

Why are you pushing this through your Citrix Connection? Wouldn't Windows Updates be pushed through HFNETCHK.EXE or Microsoft BaseLine Security Analyzer or otherwise taken care of at client login and not at the Citrix (or TSE) connection?

Thanks,

Kent

Well, I do have more reasons to know the answer to this, as there are other executables and functions that I can't run on remote machines, as my login script sees all of the machines being identified as the Citrix server, itself.

Regarding the Windows Updates, I've used HFNETCHK and MBSA to identify missing hotfixes, but never to push them out. I'll have to look into that more. Any assistance that you have with that would be cool. Obvioulsy another forum, but cool nonetheless. However, I don't think either of these would help with non-networked users (dial-up and non-VPN). However, I could be wrong.
