Hi
Iīm trigging a Motd.kix (Message of the day) at login. I've tested the script from commandpromt through netlogon and it works fine. However when I run it at logon (same cmd) I donīt get the messagebox. What am I doing wrong? Scripts below.
Regards Lars

From login.cmd
Kix32 print-srv.kix
If not exist "motd.kix" goto eof
kix32 motd.kix
:eof

Motd.kix
MESSAGEBOX ("The text I wanna show","Kixtart",64)

Try issuing a "pause" at the end of the login.cmd script to see any DOS error.

Thanx for your answer. I tried with the pause before and after "Motd.kix" and either it doesn't find motd.kix (it does find print-srv.kix) or it just ignores it. After I'm logged in I mapped netlogon on the server where I were validated and run it, the logon script, from a cmd prompt and then it runs motd.kix just fine.
Regards Lars

I'm using batch because of history issues. I'm just one of several admins responible for the enviroment. I'm the only one who knows and uses Kix so I better go easy on rewriting everything. Splitting scripts is also because of the others understanding. Should there be issues with several Kix scripts? I find it strange that it works when not trigged at login the same script works fine when I'm logged on.

well...
there can be path issues as well as memory issues.

anyway, the pause...
you didn't say what actually happened with the pause.
also, doing echo after the kix lines (between them, if multiple) and before the pause, you should see some info too.
as you don't have start /wait there, your script probably fire simultaneously.

Thanx Lonkero
It was a path isue and it didn't resolve the "If not exist motd.kix goto eof" to the netlogon folder until I was logged in. I switched to
"If not exist %logonserver%\netlogon\motd.kix goto eof" and that solved this.
