The following ingroup script is not working. The user logging in is a member of this group. I am getting the not in this group. The group is setup as a global group. Any suggestion? thanks

IF INGROUP ("Workflow") then
? 'You were found in Domain Users group'
else
? ' Not in group'
endif

Ahh.. Yes.. Another VB Convert.

Try removing the "Then" -
Code:

IF INGROUP ("Workflow")
? 'You were found in Domain Users group'
else
? ' Not in group'
endif

Kent

I am running version 4.22. I have tried the command with and without the domain name. What I have noticed when I enumerate the groups is only the local groups list, not the global. The group name in my script is a global group. According to the doc. the ingroup should do both.

Thanks for your help.

Did you successfully logon to the domain? The global groups are attached to your user token at logon time. Do you have Active Directory? The global group work is accomplished by the GC in that case.

Yes, I do log to the domain. The script just bypasses the group logic. Yes we are in a W2K domain environment.

Do you have a GC defined and is the client computer properly finding it? Have you tried NETDIAG.exe (Support Tools) to verify that the client is finding all AD components and server?

what OS is the computer that you are running the script on?

If, you are running a Win2k/XP (or if you have ADSI installed) run this, what does it tell you?

Code:

$user = getobject("WinNT://@domain/@userid")
? "@@error =:" @error
? "@@serror=:" @serror
?
for each $group in $user.groups
? $group.name
next

I'm having similar problems with my script, my first InGroup command works but dies when it hits the next, I'm out of ideas.....here is my script....
and the worst part is it sometimes sets up the application and then want to keep overwriting it instead of comparing and leaving it alone. I don't want user interaction on the prompt but it keeps up asking to yes, no or all overwrite
If InGroup ("CSR_Users_DL" )

If Exist ("D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\KSPROD.lnk") = 1
Del "D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\KSPROD.lnk"

Copy "\\ksxixsvr1\netlogon\Pushed Files\LocalMMIS\KSPROD.lnk" "D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\"
Copy "\\ksxixsvr1\netlogon\Pushed Files\LocalMMIS\KSPROD.lnk" "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\"

Use M: "\\ksxixsvr5\KSMMISPROD"

$result = CompareFileTimes("c:\KSPROD\ksmmis.exe", "\\ksxixsvr5\KSMMISPROD\ksmmis.exe")

$result = -2
Color c+/n ? "Setting up current MMIS Code - Please twiddle your thumbs."
?
CD "c:\"
MD "c:\KSPROD"
CD "c:\KSPROD"
Shell "xcopy m:\*.*"
MD "c:\KSPROD\MAR\"
CD "C:\KSPROD\MAR\"
Shell "xcopy m:\MAR\*.*"

If $result = -1 OR $result = 0

Color c+/n ? "Updating MMIS Code - Please twiddle your thumbs."
?
Shell "xcopy m:\*.* c:\KSPROD\ /D /Y /H"
Shell "xcopy m:\MAR\*.* c:\KSPROD\MAR\ /D /Y /H"
EndIf

First off, don't hijaak this thread, and secondly, you are missing a bunch of ENDIFs.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this forum. Just under pressure to make this work ASAP. I had a bunch of EndIf's and still no luck. Thank you for your assistance, I'll be leaving now.
