I am running a Kix login script that runs just fine now. I want to add to the very end of the script a section that will check if a user is a member of a group and if so run this part of the script to install an application called Trackit. Here is the code. Anyone that can point out my errors? I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Code:
 :TRACKIT
if ingroup("Trackit")
use t: /delete
use t: \\tx-apps2\intuit
RUN T: + "\tiwsmgr.exe /service /audit"
exit
endif
exit

try throwing quotes around your share, like:

use t: "\\tx-apps2\intuit"

the problem is because of the dash "-" i think - looks to kixtart like your trying to substract two strings, like:

\\tx - apps2\intuit

Try this...Your quotes were kind of screwed on the run line. Not sure why you put the T: outside the string?

Code:
:TRACKIT
if ingroup("Trackit")
use t: /delete
use t: \\tx-apps2\intuit
RUN 'T:\tiwsmgr.exe /service /audit'
exit
endif

Ok, maybe two problems then ? Don't listen to me, I'm still trying to figure-out the hidden meaning of Kixtart 2010 ... and beyond.

Ok I changed it to this - still not working. Code:

:TRACKIT
if ingroup("Trackit")
use t: /delete
use t: "\\tx-apps2\Program Files\intuit"
RUN 'T:\tiwsmgr.exe /service /audit'
exit
endif
exit

Whats not working ? Are you getting syntax errors ? Is the "INGROUP" not "grouping" or is the USE not "using" or is the RUN not "running" ?

Put little tracers into your script like:

?"Im here!"

and maybe display some error codes after your commands, like this:

?"ERROR @ERROR - @SERROR"

Why did you change from..

use t: "\\tx-apps2\intuit"

To this...

use t: "\\tx-apps2\Program Files\intuit"

?

Are you sure the program files folder is shared on the tx-apps2 server? Or is only the intuit folder shared?

Try something like this...It will print to the console and wait for you to hit a key if an errors are found...

Code:
:TRACKIT

if ingroup("Trackit")
use t: /delete
use t: "\\tx-apps2\intuit"
If Exist ("T:\tiwsmgr.exe")
RUN 'T:\tiwsmgr.exe /service /audit'
If @Error <> 0
? "Error "+@Error+" when running T:\tiwsmgr.exe - "+@SError
get $
exit 0
Endif
Else
? "Unable to find T:\tiwsmgr.exe"
get $
Exit 0
Endif
else
? "Not In TrackIt Group"
get $
endif

[edit] Put quotes around use statement. [/edit]

Shane,
I side with Shawn, whereas there should be quotes.
use t: '\\tx-apps2\intuit'

NNK,
Since you changed the USE line to be a deep mapping, one has to wonder two things:
1. Does the path include a share name?
2. Does the OS support deep mapping?

I agree Les...Quotes are better. The point I was trying to make was that the share probably is not there, the same as you are. Also trying to get him to do a little error checking to figure that out.
