What version of Ghost? If you have 8.0, you should be able to use that one.. We ran into a similar issue with 7.5 and BroadCom. When we upgraded to 8.0, all was well and we did not have to use the after-market driver from Dell.

It is not really a bug per se. It is a compatibility issue with Ghost. When I called in for Support with Symantec, they directed me to http://support.dell.com to download an updated NDIS2 driver for version 7.5 and using BroadCom NICs. When we updated to 8.0, this was no longer an issue.

I don't know how many NIC models you support, but using Bart's Network Boot Disk we have 1 Ghost boot disk that supports and auto-detects about seven PCI/PCMCIA NIC models. There are 101 pre-configured NIC drivers on that site that plug right in to the boot disk. Life was so much harder before Bart's boot disks appeared.

and then there is always WinPE... but you will also need Ghost32.exe to work in that env...

i have been using a DOS tcp/ip boot disk that has a number of nic's/PCMCIA devices supported. I was wondering... have you tried actualy mapping a drive to a win2003 server from a DOS boot disk like this? When were were doing a upgrade and during the ghost backup of each computer... we were not able to get dos to map a drive on 2003 shares...

I have given up looking for a USB NIC that supports NDIS, everyone I call go 'NDIS what kind of operating system is that'
So I looked back on the post and have added the switches for the BroadCom NIC, and everything seems ok for the time being.
I will look into "Bart's Network Boot Disk", as that would be a good idea to get rid of all are different boot disks.

Who is the manufacturer of the USB Adapter?
D-Link DUB-C2 2-Port USB 2.0 Adapter Driver 1.0 Win98/ME/2K/XP Driver
For example.. I realize that this is not an NDIS2 driver, but I do get hits off of Google using USB NDIS2 as keywords.

This doesn't help with the USB NIC problem, but there are some little known drivers that support USB mass storage devices under DOS... I had to make a USB Flash Card reader work one time under DOS and the drivers worked like a champ...

We were having a lot of problems multicasting to 530s in our school district; even had HP techs out for a couple of days. I haven't tried it personally yet, but a colleague informs me that the latest NDIS2 driver supplied by Broadcom (v 7.11) resolves the problem, even under Ghost 7.0. The download is at Broadcom driver downloads
With this, you shouldn't have to use the switch workarounds -FFX and/or -FNI

With the Broadcom 7.11 NDIS2 driver that came out in early February?  I'm hoping you were using an earlier driver-this is supposed to be the first version to have resolved the multicasting issues. Our district techs are generally multicasting to new machines at the warehouse on a private network that are not yet deployed, where there are no other users, but prior to this driver version, they couldn't get it to work at all on the D530s. The one who was in charge of resolving this told me that with this latest driver, all the multicasting issues are finally fixed. The stuff I do at one of the school sites does involve multicasting to machines in place on an existing network, but I probably won't be trying it again myself for a couple more months.

Our Broadcom NICs are only installed on the PCs and not the Hubs/Switches. We still have Ciscos, TigerStacks, etc. of the 10/100 variety. Yes, we still have 10 MB Hubs still in use!
