Hey guys ..
i read the manual 3 times and i browsed around the post in the bulletin and it seems that the author left out like 80% of the commands there are hell of a lot commands that start with % or $ that arent mentioned in the manual ...

can you please tell me if there another sites that explain how to use the program a little bit better ???

please
thanks in advance

Words that start with $ are user defined variables.

code:
$test = "this is a test"

The variable $test is now equal to the text this is a test

As for words that start and end with a %, those are system variables. to see a list of available system variables go to a DOS prompt and type SET. To use a system variable in kix you would do something like this.

code:
? "the system variable %%os%% is equal to %os%"

Welcome to Kix. The % and $ commands you make reference to are not commands. Anything bracketed with a % sign (for example %comspec%) is an environment variable that is being passed. The $ sign indicates a variable being set or used within Kix depending on its relation to an = sign.

I suggest you download Bryce's guide http://kix.isorg.net/startersguide/

Darn, Bryce edged me out! ...need to refresh
