Yep, With the wise script...

Since we know a reboot isn't necessary change the registry by admin script. I prefer to edit HKU\SID instead of HKCU...

Use Regshot to find the key you have to edit...

I see..

hmm, well maybe you are right... I didn't killed the process but disabled the password... When you jiggle the mouse you don't have to type the password...
You can also disable the screensaver but it is still running until the mouse is moved

so, that's what I did not say to do.
killing:
"shell 'kill -f logon.scr'"

what happens?
the executables (also kix) do silently go down and don't whine at all.
if you this way close screensaver, how could it ask for password?
or be there to wait for jiggle when it's KILLED. it's dead = it's gone.

Quote:

"shell 'kill -f logon.scr'"

Lets hope everyone is using the same screensaver

k, nice
should have known.

btw, I've seen this same key before and think it's used in some udf too.
just to let ppl know, it don't work at all on any wksta I've tried on our NT domain which does not use policies.
on the other hand:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

has the same values and it workies.
