Before Novell and MS exist we were already using login. In those days everything on your
computer was presenting in English. Now all kind of languages are available, which had possible
influence on a new names. It can be a misuse of login in/on.
The link login shows
login = The process of identifying oneself to a computer, usually by entering one's username and password.
Also it shows information about the the misuse of it. Looking at logon
shows, that
logon = variant of login
So we are going for login.
