This has been discussed extensively between the moderators. MCA has discussed some items related to this and other issues with Henri.
As far as the broken links go, MCA has the history of the old posts and I think you can look up the old post title on his site then search this site - not a good solution. With a great deal of effort the links could be corrected.
We are fixing individual posts as they come to our attention.
Maybe MCA will drop by and give us the details if I missed or misrepresented something.

- The signature had a 100 character limit. Currently you can add signatures with a length of 1024 characters.

Henri has disabled it.
Other issues are still running. Some of those elements is, that the problem
with the broken links will be solved too.

Mostly it starts with a discussion between the moderators.
btw: our signature shows direct URLs to FAQs and UDFs mirror. Currently based on the old UBB.Classic board.

Dear Les,
We are informing about actual status of this board. About solving the broken we are
spoking with Henri about it. An automatic redirection is the best way in our opinion
to solve it. It prevent the necessary to change all previous posts.
Henri takes action on the most urgent ones and implement some other wishes.

It is possible to redirect any old URL to the proper new URL link. Of course, some
additional things are necessary to make it possible but it is possible. Some short
tries work in a proper way.
To make it possible isn't a simple task.

Dear,
We aren't using something like the non-found page. Each old URL will be reachable, but it will be redirected directly to the new URL.
A non-found page may have some unwanted site-effects in our opinion.
Also we have to deal with different format of URLs. Handling those different format is costing us most of the time. Normally it was handling by the CGI scripts.
