Do anybody has an idea how I might restart (shutdown) or logoff ONLY after the profile loaded successfully ?
I mean after the desktop is loaded from server (for roaming profile) and/or all startup folders apps are running.
Since I install Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 remotely (through login script and RU), I face sometimes an error when the user try to logon the first time after a successfull Ie5.5 SP2 install. An warning windows say him to logon as administrator in order to finish previous installation (IE 5.5 SP2). I don't know why... some are working fine, others not (
For info, after login as admin (creating the new desktop), all ok !?
When deploying IE the first login after the reboot must be an administartive-level login unless you use IEAK (Internet Explorer Administration Kit) and specifically set the ionstall to install as user. Please read the IEAK documentyation for details. You might also want ot think about rolling out the latest version of IE as IE5.5SP2 is already on Extended Support. Try using the auto admin logon after the install of ie to eliminate the error(logon with admin account required to finsh install)and properly finsh the install then reboot so the user can logon. i agree with sealeopard need new version of ie and the IEAk
